Originally sculpted for the artist collective FAILE to be a giveaway toy with a pair of sneakers they designed for Asics, the figures that remained soon reached the collectable designer toy market in stores such as Kid Robot, where the limited of availability of all 5 colors led to many frenzied but fruitless eBay searches for the 5″ high toy. FAIL made a limited number of custom painted figures, but soon decided to produce the Bunnyboy in Bronze, and later in marble, 4 feet high. It has become an enduring symbol for FAILE.
